The Energy Office is providing funding for communities to launch a Rebuild Michigan program in their area. Rebuild Michigan is designed to foster partnerships which promote increased energy efficiency within communities. The primary focus of this program is to reduce energy use in commercial, institutional, and multi-family buildings. Community applicants may include additional objectives such as developing renewable energy or alternative transportation fuels. Applicants must be represented by a local unit of government or an energy related non-profit or other similar organization.
Communities that do not require funding to develop an energy action plan and/or projects but want access to the program’s information and technical resources and recognition as a Rebuild Michigan Community must submit a proposal to be considered.
The maximum grant award is $24,900.
Proposals are due on December 5, 2005.
