Is a hearing dog allowed in food store?
 
Answer:
Yes. Michigan has a strong law (MCL 750.502c) that gives deaf or hard of hearing person the right to enter public places with hearing dog. The public places include but are not limited to: inn, hotel, motel, apartment building, trailer park, restaurant, barbershop, billiard parlor, store, bus, train, boat, taxi cab, movie theater, public or private schools or colleges, elevator. The law also requires the hearing dog to wear a blaze orange leash and collar and be accompanied by deaf or hard of hearing person with a pictured identification card certifying that the dog was trained by a qualified trainer or organization.
