The Business Corporation Act was amended by P.A. 402 of 2008

Amendments include:

Corporation name - Section 211 - periods are no longer required if using abbreviation of required word.

Note:   Until the online Name Availability program is updated, include the period in the required word for corporations.

Resident Agent - Section 241(b) - a domestic limited liability company or foreign limited liability company qualified to do business in Michigan can be appointed as an agent for a domestic or foreign corporation.

Conversions - Section 745and 746 - Conversions of corporations are permitted in certain circumstances.
