Complete and return the Michigan Examination Registration Form and fees to PSI Services, LLC.

An applicant successfully completing all required sections of the examination will receive a report of their passing scores printed on the State of Michigan license application form. The license application must be filed with the State Board office within one year from the date a passing score is received on an application.  If the examination is in separate parts, the examination shall be valid for one (1) year from the date the first portion of the examination is passed. The deadline for submitting the application to the State Board office is shown just above the passing score report on the license application.

An applicant conducting business under a name other than their given birth name must submit copies of the official documents supporting the use of the name with the State license application. The documentation required will be based on the structure and make-up of the business entity. There may be other documentation due depending on the structure of a company, or other circumstances surrounding the applicant's history.

Once the application has been received by the department, please allow four to eight weeks for processing.  An applicant can monitor their license application approval by checking our Verify a License site.  Note:  Pending applications will not show up on this site, but the applicant can see if a license has been issued.

**An applicant who currently holds an active license, or who has held a license within the last 3 years, does not have to repeat examinations, unless upgrading the license they hold from a maintenance & alteration contractor to a residential builder, or if adding trades to an existing maintenance & alteration contractors license.
