Schools are required to teach the curriculum presented in Article
12 and in Administrative Rules R
338.2161 - 338.2169. The student will choose a course of study meeting the
general requirements. Completion of the program at mandated levels for hours
and completion of examinations at a 75% passing rate qualifies a student to
take the state board qualifying exam in cosmetology or one of the specialized
sub-disciplines.
Upon successful completion of a course of study at a licensed
school, the graduate is provided with an examination application which must
be completed and sent to the examination vendor.
