RE: FILING REQUIREMENT FOR NAMING A MICHIGAN BROKER

If the developer's marketing plans include initiating contact with Michigan residents through telephone contact or mailings into Michigan area codes and zip codes, or if the offering will be included in in-state Michigan trade shows, a Michigan broker will be required to represent the development under those circumstances.   Unless the developer's filing confirms to the Department that such contacts are not intended in Michigan, a broker will be required to be on-board before the development will be approved.  Before changing your marketing plan to include initiating contact with Michigan residents after the registration is approved, a Michigan broker will be required to submit an application.
