How do the permanent and monthly distributions work?

Answer:

In a nutshell, VIOLA gets it's distribution information from the monthly distributions screen. When the distribution window opens, the permanent distributions have been copied to the monthly Distributions screen. At this point they both match.

If you want to change the distributions for just the current month, you would change only the monthly Distributions screen information. Next month the distributions will revert back to what you have in the Permanent distributions screen.

If you don't want to change the distributions for this month but want to change them for the next series of months you only change the permanent distributions information. The new changes will be copied to the monthly distributions screen next month automatically.

If you want to change the distributions this month and for longer than this month, you would change both the permanent and monthly distributions information. After this change you would not have to change the monthly distributions next month because the permanent distributions are copied to the monthly automatically.

Any miles not distributed in the monthly distribution screen is charged to the primary account screen (Requisition window).
