Vehicle & Travel Services coordinates temporary vehicle needs through the motor pools for departments which require transportation services for official business. Vehicles are available at two Lansing locations: Capitol Complex Pool and Secondary Complex Pool as well as Cadillac Place in Detroit, Traverse City and Escanaba. The information below details the special situations for check-out and check-in of vehicles at each location.
Use the kiosk to select the vehicle and open the key box to obtain the vehicle key and fuel card. To check in (return) the vehicle, again use the kiosk and return the key to the key box.
Drivers are encouraged to print out and bring their confirmation sheet. Upon return, record the odometer reading, fuel level, and parking space before leaving the vehicle as this information must be recorded when checking in the vehicle.
Capitol Complex Pool

Vehicles can be picked up or dropped off 24/7 using the Allegan Street entrance. Push the call box button for assistance. After verifying as noted below, the gate will be opened.
For Pick Up: Drivers must show the operator their SOM employee ID card AND a hard copy of the VTS confirmation email.
For Drop Off: Drivers must use the proximity card which is attached to the keys to access the motor pool parking area.
Secondary Complex Pool

Vehicles can be picked up or dropped off 24/7. Drivers must go to the west side of the VTS building and park their personal vehicle. Enter the door marked Motor Pool.
Cadillac Place

The Lothrop Street Parking Ramp hours have changed to Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight. The parking ramp will not be open on Saturday or Sunday. This means you will not be able to pick-up or return vehicles on a Saturday or Sunday.
FleetCommander will no longer allow you to initiate a reservation with a pick-up or return on a Saturday or Sunday.
The kiosk and key box are located on the wall in the small hallway north of the main lobby just past the elevator on the Cass (east) side near the security station.
Motor pool vehicles are located on the first floor of the Lothrup Street ramp.
Traverse City

Drivers must go to the loading dock of the Traverse City State Office building and park their personal vehicle. The kiosk and key box are located inside the door at the loading dock . The kiosk and key box are accessible 24 x 7.
Motor pool vehicles are located in the parking lot on the north side of the Office Building.
Escanaba

VTS requests that non-Delta County DHS drivers attempt to reserve vehicles at the Escanaba State Office Building first and if no vehicles are available, then attempt to reserve a vehicle at Delta County DHS.
Escanaba Office Building - The kiosk and key box are located inside the employee break room which is located just inside the door to the parking lot. The kiosk and key box are accessible 24 x 7 for those who have access to the building..
Motor pool vehicles are located in the Escanaba Office Building Parking lot.
Delta County - Vehicles may be checked out through the kiosk located within the DHS offices. The kiosk and key box are accessible 24 x 7 for DHS employees.
