STARBASE Mission and Goals

Mission

To add value to America through a youth program that raises the interest and improves the knowledge and skills of at-risk youth in math, science, and technology by exposing them to the technological environment and the positive role models found on military bases and installations.

Goals

• Provide students and teachers with an exceptional program for hands-on science, math, technology, substance abuse prevention, and goal setting skills.
• Develop strong self-esteem and positive attitudes for students and teachers.
• Provide career motivation, orientation, and exploration.
• Train teachers and parents with exciting hands-on activities that will spark their students' interest in learning science, mathematics, and technology.
• Create partnerships with the military, industry, and educational communities.
• Provide assistance to parents and encourage them to become involved with their community's educational programs.
