Examples of in-Home activities include, but are not limited to the following: Bingo games, movies (with ice cream and popcorn for snacks), singers, musicians, comedians, child and adult choral groups, ethnic presentations, music recitals in our Chapel with the new Grand Piano, a variety of board games with tournament events, painting classes and a ladies quilting/sewing/knitting group. Also, daily offerings include our Woodshop, Ceramics Shop, Puzzle Room, and Greenhouse activities. We also offer religious services every week: Tuesday – Protestant, Wednesday – Catholic, Saturday – Baptist, and Sunday – Lutheran. During fall and winter months we have special pizza parties and social gatherings with several sports teams from Northern Michigan University. This has been a very successful event and terrific evening for our Members to meet the players they have been watching all season.

Community events include: NMU sports program (hockey, football, basketball and volleyball), YMCA swimming (for ALL Members who would like to participate), bowling at Ishpeming Lanes, monthly GKC movie and treat, shopping trips and bus rides (brand new red, white and blue Home touring bus), theatrical presentations, concerts, picnics, and visits to historical and/or scenic locations. We also receive frequent invitations to visit area veterans or civic organizations facilities to partake in fishing, bingo, lunches or dinners and patriotic presentations.

We have a very large and diversified volunteer program comprised of several veteran groups, civic organizations, college students, and individuals. They impact our Activities Program in a most positive way which supports our effort of enhancing and maintaining the highest quality of life we can provide our Members.
