COL William R. Ewald, is the Commander of the MI VDF JPG William R. Ewald, Colonel (Retired) Regular Army DMG Infantry Commission from Michigan State University ROTC 1969. From 1969 thru 1972 served on active duty including 18 months in Republic of Vietnam. Served as Company Commander 1973-1975, and Ready Reserve 1975 thru 1986. Active Guard Reserve in the Michigan Army National Guard with assignments to 126 Infantry and 125 Infantry as training officer, S-1, S-3, XO and Battalion Commander; serving as the 125 Infantry AGR-OIC from 1987 thru 1997. Assigned to Headquarters 46th Mechanized Infantry Brigade as XO and Brigade Commander and as AGR-OIC from 1997 thru 2004. June 2004 thru July 2005 on Active Army (Title X) assignment as Senior Military Assistant (Special Operations) to NATO Commander in Bosnia. Retired 1 October 2005.
