FAQ
  National Guard Membership
What type of work would I be doing in the National Guard?

Answer:

The Michigan National Guard has a wide variety of military opportunities. Our diverse force structure includes fighter and transport aircraft, band, infantry, armor, military police, supply, transportation, medical, and engineer units and more!

Jobs in our units include typical soldier functions like infantry and military police, as well as cooks, aircraft crews and maintainers, vehicle and equipment maintainers, truck drivers, communications specialists, civil and combat engineers, and the opportunity to be a leader.

The assignment you may be given depends on the availability of Air Force Speciality Codes (AFSCs) or Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs) at units near your home, any prior military experience you may have, and what AFSCs/MOSs you may qualify for.

Your recruiter can help you determine which AFSC/MOS is best suited for you based on your qualifications and unit availability.
