What is Fort Custer National Cemetery?

Fort Custer National Cemetery, near Battle Creek, Michigan opened as a National Cemetery in 1988 under the management of the US Department of Veterans Affairs.  Fort Custer National Cemetery serves as the final resting place for over 16,000 veterans and eligible family members.  Approximately 1300 burials occur each year.

Directions to Fort Custer National Cemetery:

 

From Interstate 94, take exit 95 (Helmer/Springfield Road) and turn north on Helmer Road.

 

Drive north 3.6 miles to a T intersection (Dickman Road) and traffic light (3rd light north of I-94)

 

Turn left (West) on Dickman (M-96) and proceed 4.7 miles.

 

Fort Custer National Cemetery is on the right (north) side of Dickman Road.
