At what age can I start collecting retirement benefits?
 
Answer:

 

Eligible former Michigan National Guard members may begin collecting state military retirement benefits at age 55. Current members of the Michigan National Guard over age 55 may begin collecting state military retirement benefits upon separation from the Michigan National Guard.

 

Federal military retired pay may be collected by eligible persons beginning at age 60.
