April 29, 2013

LANSING - The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) will be moving May 1, 2013 to downtown Lansing in order to better serve veterans in our state. Currently sharing space with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs outside the Joint Forces Headquarters, the agency is relocating operations to 222 Washington Square North, Lansing, MI  48933 and will occupy the 5th floor of the Phoenix Building. The new primary phone number for the agency will be (517) 284-5298. The agency fax number will be (517) 284-5295. Mail for the agency should be directed to Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, P.O. Box 30104, Lansing, MI  48909.

The Michigan Veterans Trust Fund (MVTF) operating within the MVAA is also moving to the new location and shares the same mailing and street addresses. The primary number for the MVTF changes to (517) 284-5299. The fax number for the Trust is (517) 284-5297.

The new phone numbers will go into effect on May 1st.  Information on the move will also be posted on the DMVA website at www.michigan.gov/veterans and on the DMVA Facebook page at www.facebook.com/midmva. During the week of the move, there may be periodic interruptions in the ability of agency staff to receive phone and email communications.  Anyone needing to contact the agency and unable to call through the main number is encouraged to send a message through the agency website or facebook page.

The MVAA began standing up operations on March 20, 2013. The creation of the agency was announced in January by Governor Rick Snyder during the State of the State address. The agency will add staff and services and will be fully operational October 1, 2013.
