Jacobetti Home administrator elected to national post

The National Association of State Veterans Homes (NASVH) has elected Brad Slagle, administrator of the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, to serve as their new president, announced Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency Director Jeff Barnes. Slagle was elected Monday during the association’s annual conference in Nashville.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to put my passion for state veterans’ homes to work at this level,” Slagle said. “As president, I plan to continue the outstanding reputation the National Association of State Veterans Homes has earned in Washington and on Capitol Hill and to further educate national leaders on the outstanding and cost-effective service we provide to our nation’s veterans.”

Slagle has worked for the Jacobetti Home since 1999 and has served as its administrator since 2005. He has been active in the NASVH for several years, previously serving as North Central Regional Director, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President.

The NASVH represents 142 state veterans’ homes from all 50 states, providing 30,000 long-term care beds for our nation’s veterans.
