Nursing Care at The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the entire Nursing department. The department consists of over 150 licensed RNs and LPNs and 200 Member Care Aids to provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

There are 14 nursing units consisting of 569 skilled nursing beds located in 3 buildings: the Mann, McLeish and Rankin. Each of the 14 nursing units has an RN Coordinator assigned to oversee all nursing specific issues. All members have a licensed nurse case manager assigned to them.

Nursing coordinates a computerized, multidisciplinary, comprehensive assessment tool (MDS) used to develop an individual plan of care for each member admitted and reviews this on a quarterly basis to provide the best quality of life for all members here.

If you have any questions regarding the nursing services department, please call or e-mail us.
