Agency: Natural Resources

December 21, 2006

Just in time for the holidays, state recreation officials today announced 2007 Michigan State Park Motor Vehicle Permits now are available at all state parks and recreation areas or through the Michigan e-Store at http://mi-mall.michigan.gov.

The 2007 motor vehicle permits are the same price as last year --$24 for a resident annual and $29 for a nonresident annual. Annual boating access site permits also remain at $24.

New this holiday gift-giving season, the Parks and Recreation Division also is offering a $25 gift certificate, which can be redeemed toward the purchase of an annual motor vehicle permit or boating access site permit, or used in person for camping or park entrance fees, concessions or merchandise at all state parks, recreation areas, state-operated harbors and boating access sites. The gift certificates can be purchased online through the e-store, or by contacting the Parks and Recreation Division's Lansing office at (517) 373-9900.

Senior motor vehicle permits for 2007 remain at $6, and are sold only at a state park or recreation area office to individuals who are 65 years of age or older and own a vehicle that is registered in Michigan. Proper identification and Michigan vehicle registration must be shown at the time of purchase.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
