Interlochen State Park Celebrates Christmas in July With Events July 26

The Department of Natural Resources today announced that Interlochen State Park is celebrating Christmas in July with events planned at the park on July 26.

On July 26, the park will be the scene of decorated campsites, warming fires and Christmas carols. Those who wish to enter the best-decorated campsite contest will need to register with the North Camp Host between 10 a.m. and noon earlier in the day. Campsite viewing and judging will take place between 3 and 6 p.m. Afterward, park visitors are invited to warm their toes by the campfire on the host site before they go caroling around the campground at 8 p.m.

Reservations for camping at Interlochen can be made by calling 800-447-2757 or online at www.midnrreservations.com. More information about Christmas in July at Interlochen can be obtained by calling the park at (231) 276-9511. The park is located on M-137 near Interlochen.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
