Agency: Natural Resources

March 25, 2009

The popular "Ask the DNR" program on WNMU Public Television in the Upper Peninsula returns to the air at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 2, with a show that focuses on the opening of the 2009 fishing season and wildfire prevention.

The hour-long show features a panel of Department of Natural Resources employees taking questions from callers and viewers via e-mail. Every question is answered, even if calls need to be made to viewers off the air after the program concludes. Questions can be e-mailed to tv13@nmu.edu or phoned in during the live broadcast at 800-227-9668.

The April 2 show will feature Bill Ziegler, a DNR fisheries biologist from Crystal Falls; Mike Koss, a DNR wildlife biologist from Marquette; and Robert Ziel, a DNR fire specialist from Marquette. The show is underwritten in part by the Central U.P. Sport Fishing Association.

"Ask the DNR" is produced six times a year on WNMU-TV 13, the public television station in Marquette. It is aired on public television stations throughout the Upper Peninsula and northeastern Wisconsin. Please consult local television listings for replay times for the program.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
