Bear Hunting Licenses and Costs

Apprentice licenses are listed as APC.

It is unlawful to purchase more than one bear license. If you are selected for a bear hunting license, make sure you are not sold a participation license by mistake.

Bear License, No Kill Tag (NKT)--

A NKT License is required by any individual in possession of a firearm, crossbow or bow and arrow who accompanies a licensed bear hunter during the hunt. This license also is required by the owner, when present, or an individual in possession of any dog chasing or locating bear on a hunt. These regulations are under review and subject to change. Senate bill 483 has been introduced into the Michigan State Senate. The bill would change the requirements for possession of a bear license-no kill tag. Information and updates on the status of the legislation can be found on the
