2008 Hunt Period 2: December 9-16 on both public and private lands in Montmorency, Otsego, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Emmet, Alpena, Antrim, Oscoda, and Presque Isle counties. See the map 2008 Elk Management Units - December Hunt for specific management units.

2008 Hunt Period 3: This hunt would be held January 15 - 19, 2009, only in elk management units where additional harvest is necessary to achieve population management goals.
