2011-2012 Seasons and Bag Limits for Ducks and Mergansers

Wood Duck (Aix sponsa)

North Zone
Sept. 24 to Nov. 18 and Nov. 24-27

Middle Zone
Oct. 1 to Nov. 27 and Dec. 3-4

South Zone
Oct. 8 to Dec. 4 and Dec. 10-11

Waterfowl Hunting Zones and Shooting Hours

Statewide Daily Limits for Ducks and Mergansers

The daily limit is six ducks and may include:

  • no more than four mallards (no more than one of which may be a female)
  • three wood ducks
  • two redheads
  • two scaup
  • two pintails
  • one black duck
  • one canvasback

In addition to the duck limit, hunters may take five mergansers, only two of which may be hooded mergansers.

The possession limit is twice the daily limit for ducks and mergansers.
