• Michigan's Hunter Education ProgramHunter education in Michigan has taught thousands of people safe hunting techniques, firearm handling and hunter ethics. Hunter safety is required if you were born after January 1, 1960 and you want to purchase any Michigan hunting license, or if you are planning an out-of-state hunting trip.

• Today's Hunter in Michigan (HTML) Most hunters know that the lasting fun of hunting comes only when it is conducted safely and ethically. Safe hunting begins with Hunter Education. Successful completion of this class is required of all first time hunters born on or after January 1, 1960.

• Hunter Education Promotes Our Wildlife Heritage

Mentored Youth Hunting Demonstration Days - Save the Date
Save the date for the 2013 Demonstration Days for Mentored Youth at the DNR's shooting ranges. This free event will give young hunters a chance to try a variety of firearms and archery equipment, and get fitted with help from range officers and hunter education instructors. Staff members will be available between 4-8 p.m. on Aug. 6 at Pontiac Lake, Aug. 7 at Ortonville, Aug. 13 at Sharonville, and Aug. 14 at Rose Lake.
