Tahquamenon Falls State Park-Wilderness Canoe Race

The race begins at 10 a.m.

Professional two-person canoe race down the Tahquamenon River totaling 17 miles from the Lower Falls to Whitefish Bay near the Rivermouth campground.  A shorter one person race is also offered as well as a "Free-for All" for amateurs and paddling enthusiasts.  The event is hosted by the Paradise Chamber of Commerce and the Michigan Canoe Racing Association.  46 boats entered in 2007.  Visit www.miracing.com for more information.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
