In celebration of the Michigan State Parks 90th Anniversary, Newaygo State Park will be offering the following events on June 20th.
"Take Me Caching"
- Members of Michigan Geocaching Organization will be offering many activities throughout the day.
10:00 am to 10:45 Geocaching 101
10:00 am to 2:00 pm Lots of games for the Kids - by the Morley Stanwood Girl Scout Troop 1607
10:45 am - 1:00 Hit all the new caches, new cache info will be passed out. Experienced cachers
will mentor beginners in small groups.
1:00 pm - 2:00 Pig Roast
2:00 pm Prize drawings
2:30 pm Clean-up and continue geocaching

"Take Me Golfing"
2:00 p.m. Professional Disc Golf competitor Dr. Leonard Johnson will be teaching newcomers the finer art of disc golf. Discs and targets will be available for beginners.
Experienced golfers will mentor beginners in an 18 hole outing on our new pro-quality course.
Opportunities to win prizes donated by local businesses will be revealed during the
event.

"Take Me Fishing"
Members of local Bass Clubs will promote their sport by mentoring small groups of visitors. Come fish in a three hour tournament on Hardy Pond.
All participants under 18 will receive at free rod and reel combo donated by the
Michigan Conservation Officer Association. Call Ron at 231-590-2376 for registration details.

All events are free of charge. Motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance and headquarters. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily.
All Motor vehicles need a Michigan state park permit.
