Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps/AmeriCorps Stewardship Crews
Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps (MCCC)/AmeriCorps Stewardship Crews implement ecological restoration and other resource management activities at state park and recreation areas. These crews work to protect some of the most significant and threatened natural resources, including marshes, fens, oak barrens, lakeplain prairies and forests. Through dedication and teamwork, they have a direct and positive impact on ecosystems throughout the state. Crew members should understand and appreciate the non-financial rewards of helping to preserve Michigan's natural resources for this and future generations. The stewardship crew is based in southern Michigan at Brighton Recreation Area and travels state-wide.
The Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps is a special program that provides a variety of service opportunities to prepare young adults for future employment by enhancing on-the-job skills, offering many training opportunities, and providing hands-on work experiences to protect Michigan's unique natural heritage.
