 BAIR LAKE - R281.714.10 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

10. On the waters of Bair lake, section 34, town 6 south, range 13 west; sections 2 and 3, town 7 south, range 13 west, Porter and Newberg townships, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis'; return true;" style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 3px double; TEXT-DECORATION: none" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;" href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=25&k=water%20skis">water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

On the channel located on the north end of Baldwin lake, sections 8 and 9, T8S, R13W, Porter township, Cass county, it unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 CABLE LAKE - R281.714.16 - Motorboats prohibited.

16. On the waters of Cable lake, section 5, T5S, R16W, Silver Creek township, Cass county, it is unlawful to operate a motorboat.

 CANAL CONNECTED TO DEWEY LAKE - R281.714.15 - Slow--no wake speed.

15. On the waters of the canal connected to Dewey lake, section 8 and 9, town 5 south, range 16 west, Silver Creek township, Cass county, west of a line beginning where the east line of lot 22, Sandy Beach Estates subdivision, as extended, intersects the water’s edge and thence northwesterly to the nearest opposite shore, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 CANALS CONNECTED TO JUNO LAKE - R281.714.8 - Slow--no wake speed.

8. On the waters of the canals connected to Juno lake, section 6, town 8 south, range 14 west, Mason township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

7. On the waters of the channel connecting Painter and Juno lakes, section 31, town 7 south, range 14 west, Calvin township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 CHRISTIANN CREEK - R281.714.2 - Slow--no wake speed.

2. On the waters of Christiann creek, sections 1 and 12, town 8 south, range 15 west, township of Ontwa, county of Cass, state of Michigan, from the outlet of Christiann lake downstream to the dam on section 12, town 8 south, range 15 west, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow--no wake speed, which means a speed whereby the wake or wash created by the motorboat would be minimal.

 CHRISTANNA LAKE CHANNELS AND CANALS - R281.714.3 - Slow--no wake speed.

3. On all artificial or natural channels and canals connected to Christianna lake, sections 1 and 12, town 8 south, range 15 west, township of Ontwa, county of Cass, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow--no wake speed, which means a speed whereby the wake or wash created by the motorboat would be minimal.

 COVERDALE LAKE - R281.714.5 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

5. On the waters of Coverdale lake, sections 15, 16, 21 and 22, town 8 south, range 13 west, Porter township, Cass county, it shall be unlawful to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed, which means a speed at or above which a vessel reaches a planing condition.

(b) Have in tow,or otherwise assist in the propulsion of,a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

 DEWEY LAKE - R281.714.14 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

14. On the waters of Dewey lake, section 4, 5, 8 and 9, town 5 south, range 16 west, Silver Creek township, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow,or otherwise assist in the propulsion of,a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard,or other similar contrivance.

 DIAMOND LAKE (SAIL BAY) - WC-14-04-001 - Slow--no wake speed.

On the waters of Diamond Lake, being that portion commonly referred to as Sail Bay, commencing at a point, south of a line extending eastward from the northeast corner of Lot 1, Sail Harbor, as it intersects the waters edge, Section 6, Town 7 south, Range 14 west, Calvin township, Cass county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys.  All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

 DRISKELS LAKE - R281.714.1 - Slow--no wake speed.

1. On the waters of Driskels lake, sections 34 and 35, town 6 south, range 13 west, Newberg township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 EAGLE LAKE CANALS AND CANALS - R281.714.4 - Slow--no wake speed.

4. On all artificial or natural channels and canals connected to Eagle lake, sections 2 and 3, town 8 south, range 15 west, township of Ontwa, county of Cass, state of Michigan, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow--no wake speed, which means a speed whereby the wake or wash created by the motorboat would be minimal.

 FINCH LAKE - R281.714.13 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

13. On the waters of Finch lake, section 7, town 5 south, range 13 west, Marcellus township and section 12, town 5 south, range 14 west, Volinia township, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

 HARWOOD LAKE - R281.714.11 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

11. On the waters of Harwood lake, section 24, town 6 south, range 13 west, Newberg township, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed, or

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

 LEWIS LAKE - WC-14-01-001 - Slow-- no wake speed

On the waters of that portion of Lewis Lake, in section 31, town 6 south, range 13 west, Newberg township, Cass county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

On the waters of Lewis Lake and the channel between Lewis Lake and Donnell Lake, in section 36, town 6 south, range 14 west, Penn township, Cass county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys.  All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

 LEWIS LAKE - R281.714.9 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

9. On the waters of Lewis lake, sections 13 and 24, town 5 south, range 13 west, Marcellus township, Cass county, it is unlawful to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance. (See R281.775.2 for that part of Lewis lake which lies in St. Joseph county.)

 LITTLE FISH LAKE - R281.714.12 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

12. On the waters of Little Fish lake, section 2, town 6 south, range 14 west, Penn township and section 35, town 5 south, range 14 west, Volinia township, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

 LONG LAKE CHANNEL - WC-14-90-003 - Slow--no wake speed.

On the channel located on the north end of Long lake, sections 3, 4, 9, and 10, T8S, R13W, Porter township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 LONG LAKE AND COVERDALE LAKE CHANNEL - WC-14-90-002 - Slow--no wake speed.

On the channel connecting Long lake and Coverdale lake, section 21, T8S, R13W, Porter township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 MILL POND - R281.714.18 - Slow--no wake speed.

18. On the waters of the Mill pond, sections 32 and 33, T5S, R15W, Wayne township and the city of Dowagiac, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

 PAINTER LAKE - R281.714.6 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

6. On the waters of Painter lake, section 36, town 7 south, range 15 west, and section 31, town 7 south, range 14 west, Jefferson and Calvin townships, Cass county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

 PRIEST LAKE - R281.714.17 - High-speed boating and water skiing prohibited.

17. On the waters of Priest lake, sections 11 and 14, T5S, R16W, Silver Creek township, Cass county, it is unlawful to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis.

 SHAVEHEAD LAKE - WC-14-90-001- Slow--no wake speed.

On the waters of the channels located on the south end of the east and the west arm of Shavehead lake, section 30, T7S, R13W, Porter township, Cass county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow--no wake speed.

History: Eff. March 1, 1991

 TWIN LAKES - R281.714.19 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

19. On the waters of Twin lakes, sections 15 and 16, T5S, R15W, Wayne township, Cass county, an operator of a motorboat, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, shall not:

(a) Operate the motorboat at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.
