When work becomes available for bidding, an email will be sent to all pre-qualified bidders and the bid information will be posted on the Timber Sale Preparation web page under the title Available Bid Packets. The email will notify bidders of the location of the work and include a link to the Timber Sale Preparation web page. Dates when bids are due will also be included.

To view bid items on the Timber Sale Preparation web page, select the Forest Management Unit (FMU) of interest listed under the heading Available Bid Packets. A web page listing the available bid packets for the FMU will be displayed. Please review the prescription form, map(s), and bid form for each bid packet. You are encouraged to examine these offerings carefully for yourself in the field as the acreages, distances, and other values presented are estimates, and are not guaranteed.

Note that payments may be made for each separate bid item within a bid packet if desired, by furnishing the proof required for its completion according to the contract.

If you are interested in submitting a bid for a particular bid packet, follow these steps:

• Make sure you are pre-qualified State of Michigan vendor. If your application for pre-qualification is in process, you may receive an information email to review bid items as they become available. However, your pre-qualification must be received and successfully evaluated by the bid due date in order to be awarded any bids.
• Review the Timber Sale Preparation Contract Bid Packets. The packets are listed by Forest Management Unit. Within each unit, work that is designed to be bid to a single bidder is contained in a single bid packet. A packet may contain one or more sales or types of work that are to be bid separately. Each bid packet will be awarded to a single vendor on the basis of their bid form, contract history and their Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) received during the pre-qualification process. Bid packets will be awarded based on Best Value to the State.
• Do not change the format of bid files. Bids received in an alternate format will not be accepted. The bid forms are in .rtf format. Please review the prescription form, maps and the bid form indicating the bid items pertinent to this work. You are encouraged to examine these offerings carefully for yourself as the acreages, distances, and other values presented are estimates, and are not guaranteed.
• Return the completed Bid form. Forms should be submitted electronically to StoleckiD@Michigan.gov.
