Outdoor Explorer's Kit

Ready to head outdoors! Here is a suggested exploring kit that you and your parents can put together to help you really enjoy yourself! This kit should provide everything you need for up to a half day.

  • Water bottle
  • Hand lens/magnifying glass
  • Zippered sandwich bags (for keeping those neat discoveries)
  • Small trash bags (to help pick up trash)(They also make excellent emergency rain ponchos)
  • Journal (for notes, drawings, observations, or special thoughts)
  • Two writing instruments (in case one gets lost or broken)
  • Tissue
  • Wet wipes
  • Snacks
    • Hard candy
    • Trail mix (see recipes)

    • Individual anti-septic wipes
    • Band aids
