Natural Resources Curricula Certification
The most renowned environmental education curricula in America include Project WILD, Project Learning Tree, Project WET, and the Leopold Education Project. Each of these programs requires participation in a six-hour workshop to acquire the activity guides.
The Academy offers one-stop shopping. This tract will offer training, materials, and certification in all four of these nationally recognized programs. They include components that include time spent outdoors and learning activities that translate to the classroom.
Natural Resources Field Camp
Spend each day in the field with the team of DNR biologist, foresters, researchers and other folks to learn exactly how DNR scientists go about managing Michigan's resources.

Cruise timber, handle fish, scout for wildlife and immerse yourself in this field course designed to give educators information that they can translate to relevant lessons in the classroom and perhaps field trips of their own. Prepare for rain, bugs, heat, mud, and fun!
NatureQuest
Recent research indicates that students learn better in an
outdoor setting yet many educators hesitate to take their
students outside. This course will provide an introduction
to the flora and fauna of the Great Lakes region. Learn the
basics of plant and animal identification techniques and
entertaining methods to immerse your students in an
outdoor setting. Birds, mammals, bugs, reptiles and amphibians,
trees, tracks and more in this amateur naturalist for the educator.
