Detailed information on the identification and ecology of the natural plant communities and endangered, threatened, and special
concern plants and animals of Michigan may be found in the following references. This is not an exhaustive list, but is intended as a first step for developing an understanding of Michigan's rare species and the natural communities in which they live.
