Hoeft State Park Introduces 'Yoga on the Beach' on Aug. 1

P.H. Hoeft State Park will hold a "Yoga on the Beach" session from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. The 90-minute session, taught by a representative from the Cheboygan Health and Fitness Center, includes instruction on breathing techniques at the end of the class.

The cost for the program is $5 per person, which will pay for the instructor. Each person will need to bring a mat and a blanket, but all other equipment will be provided. The session will be located on the beach below the sand dunes, weather permitting. If the weather is bad, it will be relocated to the park's pavilion.

Hoeft State Park is host to 144 campsites, a mini cabin, a newly remodeled modern lodge, a historic pavilion, and a group use area.

Camping reservations can be made online at www.midnrreservations.com, or by calling 800-44PARKS. All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
