Contact:  Paige Perry 989-732-3541 ext. 5086
Agency: Natural Resources

July 24, 2008

The Department of Natural Resources announced today that a portion of the Tomahawk C Loop Motorcycle Trail in Cheboygan County will be rerouted around a bridge project on McEachron Road. The Cheboygan County Road Commission began bridge work on Monday, July 14. The bridge crosses the West Branch of the Sturgeon River and is slated to be completed later this fall.

To get around the river crossing, the trail has been rerouted to the west of its current location and will utilize county roads to use the Shingle Mill Bridge to cross the river. The temporary route is marked with green arrows.

Questions concerning the temporary reroute of the Tomahawk C Loop Motorcycle Trail, and the status of other trails in the region, may be directed to Paige Perry, DNR trail analyst, at 989 732 3541, extension. 5086.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
