Brimley State Park is hosting its third annual harvest festival on Oct. 3-5, which will include a campsite decorating contest, a haunted house and much more.
The festivities begin on Friday, Oct. 3, as campers adorn their sites for the site decorating competition. From 6:30 to 8 p.m., the doors for the haunted house will open for the smaller children. At 8:30 the doors of the haunted house will re-open for those who are brave enough to try a truly haunting experience. The haunted house includes multi-themed rooms, a maze, and a haunted cemetery.
"The haunted house from last year was such a success, the park staff has been hard at work to make this year's experience even better," said Park Supervisor Burr Mitchell. "Campers and non-campers alike are invited to check out this special house, but all should expect surprises to pop up."
On Saturday, Oct. 4, campers will find fun activities for the whole family beginning with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. Other activities include pumpkin carving, a costume parade, games for children of all ages, and trick or treating. Campers can vote on the best decorated campsite and turn it in at the haunted house on Saturday evening. Sunday morning the winners will be announced and awards given out.
