Bruin Lake Campground Hosting its 2nd Annual Fall Harvest Festival Oct. 4

Pinckney State Recreation Area is hosting its second annual Fall Harvest Festival at Bruin Lake Campground Saturday, Oct. 4.

Activities will begin at 12 p.m. with face painting, balloon sculptures and pumpkin painting. A bouncing ball moonwalk will begin at 2 p.m., and trick-or-treating around the campground will begin around 6:30 p.m.

The festival is open to campers at Bruin Lake campground and their invited guests. All campers are encouraged to bring treats to pass out, and join in the fun by wearing their best costume or decorating their campsite. Cider and doughnuts will be offered to campers Sunday morning at the campground host tent, from 7 to 9 a.m.

Bruin Lake campground is located at 21237 Kaiser Rd., within the Pinckney State Recreation Area. It offers 185 modern campsites with accessible restrooms. Campsites are available for this event, so "GO-Get Outdoors" and enjoy the fall season at Bruin Lake. Camping reservations can be made on-line at www.midnrreservations.com, or by calling 800-447-2757.

Pinckney State Recreation Area is located of US-23 at Exit 49 (North Territorial Road) near Pinckney. To access the entrance to Bruin Lake campground, continue 14 miles west on North Territorial Road, turn right (north) on Hadley Road, then right (east) on Kaiser Road to the entrance.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for resident annual and $6 for resident daily. A non-resident annual is $29 and a non-resident daily is $8.
