Maybury State Park Hosting Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe Demo Feb. 1

Maybury State Park is hosting a "GO-Get Outdoors" cross-country ski and snowshoe demo on Sunday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

REI, the outdoor gear store, will have its sports equipment on-site and will be offering equipment for visitors to try at no cost. For information about their equipment, participants can contact the REI store in Northville at (248) 347-2100 in advance of the event, or visit the
REI Web site at www.rei.com.

The Friends of Maybury State Park will be at the concession/shelter building with a warming fire and complimentary hot chocolate and snacks.

Maybury State Park is located at 20145 Beck Rd. in Northville. Visitors are asked to use the entrance off Eight Mile Road, just west of Beck Road, to enter the park.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
