Agency: Natural Resources

Feb. 9, 2009

The Western Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) for the Department of Natural Resources will meet on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Central Time Monday, Feb. 23, at the Crystal Falls Township Hall, located at 1384 West US-2 in Crystal Falls.

Topics for discussion include:

  • Non-industrial Landowner Resources
  • Cross-country Ski Pass
  • Inland lake stocking of walleyes
  • Quiet period for bear hunting over bait
  • ORV trail identification and signage

The CACs were formed to give UP citizens more input into DNR regional programs and activities. The councils, both an Eastern UP and Western UP one, have a wide array of outdoor recreation interests represented and help the DNR identify ways to be more effective across the region.

CAC meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact Stacy Welling, DNR UP field deputy, at (906) 228-6561.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
