The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Michigan United Conservation Clubs (MUCC) today announced two changes to the statewide tour of public meetings on deer management.
The meeting originally scheduled for Feb. 19 at the Newberry Comfort Inn has been rescheduled to March 2. The new location will be the McMillan Township Hall, 405 Newberry Ave., Newberry.
A new meeting added to the schedule is set for March 3, at the Avalon Lansing West Hotel (formerly Best Western-Midway Hotel, 7711 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
All meetings will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. local time and are open to the public. The meetings are aimed at gathering
regional input for the ongoing development of a comprehensive state deer management plan. Input from the meetings will be reviewed by a Michigan Deer Advisory Team comprised of diverse stakeholders that will be charged with providing strategic recommendations for the plan to the DNR.
The other public meetings scheduled for this tour include:
- Feb. 17, Crystal Falls Township Hall, 1384 West US-2, Crystal Falls. (Note: this meeting is 6:30-8:30 p.m. CST)
- Feb. 17, Northwood University, Sloan Auditorium, 4000 Whiting Dr, Midland
- Feb. 17, Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center, 6093 M-115, Cadillac
- Feb. 18, Hillman Community Center, 24220 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hillman
- Feb. 24, Kalamazoo Nature Center, 7000 N. Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo
- Feb. 24, Oakland University, Meadow Brook Hall, 2200 N. Squirrel Road, Rochester
