Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is offering a free night of lodging to its guests, in honor of Michigan State Parks' 90th Anniversary Celebration during 2009. The promotion rewards guests who stay in a Porkies' cabin or yurt between April 1 and June 30, with a coupon redeemable for one free night's stay during a two or more night booking in a cabin or yurt between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31, 2009. The offer excludes the park's Kaug Wudjoo modern lodge.

"This is a great chance to get out and experience spring wildflowers and waterfalls, as well as autumn's color display and hunting opportunities in the park," said Porkies park manager Robert Sprague.

The Porkies will issue coupons to cabin and yurt occupants upon arrival to the park during the spring promotional time period. The coupons can be redeemed upon their return to the park during their fall stay. If a reservation is made in advance, credit for the stay will be given upon registration at the park. Coupons will be numbered and duplicates will not be issued. Coupons expire Dec. 31, 2009.

All motor vehicles entering a state park or recreation area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
