Agency: Natural Resources

April 27, 2009

Michigan Department of Natural Resources Director Rebecca Humphries is featured on the Saturday, May 2 edition of "Media Meet," WNMU-TV 13's weekly public affairs program.

The program airs at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday and again on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. It was taped while Humphries was in Marquette earlier this month for a town hall meeting to discuss future priorities for the DNR.

During the 30-minute program, Humphries and host Bill Hart and Mining Journal reporter John Pepin discussed the recent funding proposal for Michigan's state park system, prospects for hunting and fishing license fee increases and how the current economy is impacting DNR operations.

Humphries also answered questions about deer herd management and the Kennecott Eagle Project copper and nickel mine.

"Media Meet" also can be heard on Public Radio 90 at 1 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
