The Eastern Upper Peninsula Citizen Advisory Council (CAC) for the Department of Natural Resources will meet Thursday, May 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the basement of the McMillan Township Hall (Newberry Community Building), located at 405 Newberry Ave. in Newberry.
Topics for discussion include:
- Off-Shore Wind Energy
- Non-Industrial Private Forestlands Plan
- Supplemental Feeding
- Deer Management Plan Update
- Sharp-tailed Grouse Management
The CACs were formed to give U.P. citizens more input into DNR regional programs and activities. The councils, in both the Eastern U.P. and Western U.P., have a wide array of outdoor recreation interests represented and help the DNR identify ways to be more effective across the region.
CAC meetings are open to the public. For more information, contact Stacy Welling, DNR U.P. field deputy, at (906) 228-6561.
