Agency: Natural Resources

May 21, 2009

The Department of Natural Resources today announced a portion of the Kalkaska ATV Trail, which shares Riverview Road, is temporarily closed due to a road washout. The trail closure is located on the southern Kalkaska loop, near the twelfth intersection designation on the DNR trail map.

The Kalkaska County Road Commission has placed barricades at both closure points. Riders are cautioned that they will be able ride up to each end of the closure, but unable to cross at the closed area.

Questions may be directed to Amanda Matelski, DNR trails analyst, at (231) 775-9727, ext. 6044. Information regarding other ORV/ATV riding opportunities may be found on the DNR's Web site at www.michigan.gov/dnr.

The DNR is committed to the conservation, protection, management, use and enjoyment of the state's natural resources
for current and future generations.
