Tahquamenon Falls State Park Hosts Harvest Festival Oct. 16-17

Tahquamenon Falls State Park will host its eighth annual "GO-Get Outdoors" Harvest Festival Oct. 16-17 at the Lower Falls Campgrounds, coinciding with the Haunted Trail event in the town of Paradise, the Department of Natural Resources announced today.

Many activities for campers will be offered, including a Friday night interpretive program, camper chili cook-off, site decorating contest, pumpkin carving contest, costume contests and Saturday evening trick-or-treating.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park is located at 41382 West M-123, 25 miles north of Newberry or 12 miles west of Paradise. For more information about this event, the park, accessibility, or persons needing accommodations to attend this event, contact the park at (906) 492-3415 (TTY/TDD 711 Michigan Relay Center for the hearing impaired), or visit www.michigan.gov/tahquamenonfalls.

Campsites are $21 to $23 per night and can be reserved online at www.midnrreservations.com, or by calling the DNR central reservation system at 800-447-2757.

All motor vehicles entering a Michigan State Park or Recreation Area must display a Motor Vehicle Permit, available for purchase at the park entrance. Cost is $24 for a resident annual and $6 for a resident daily. A nonresident annual is $29 and a nonresident daily is $8.
