What is the Michigan State Parks Advisory Committee?

The Michigan State Parks Advisory Committee (MSPAC) is a subcommittee of the Natural Resources Commission (NRC), serving as a citizen's advisory committee to the NRC and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on all Michigan state park-related issues.

The MSPAC (formerly the Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks) was established by the NRC in April, 2010. This diverse panel of individuals, appointed by the DNR Director, with the advice of the NRC, will ensure the public has a voice in the operations, planning and development of Michigan's premier state park system. This committee also recommended the Recreation Passport, a new way of funding Michigan's outdoor recreation.
