SPOTLIGHT

Teachers, Register Now for the Michigan Studies Workshop Register by June 17 to take advantage of this learning/travel experience focusing on history and economics. The four-day workshop begins and ends at the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing, with stops at Hartwick Pines Logging Museum, Fort Michilimackinac and the Soo Locks.

• Story Circle Preschoolers enjoy a story, a craft and a tour. Fee; pre-registration required. May 4, 2013, at the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing. 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• Extreme Gardening Free admission, courtesy of Christians Greenhouse & Garden Center. May 11, 2013, at the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Stitch Lab Join in creating our yarn bomb. May 18, 2013, at the Michigan Historical Museum, Lansing. 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The First People to 1900 Follow the time line of history from Michigan's First Peoples to the end of the 19th century through the Michigan Historical Museum's second-floor permanent exhibits.
Michigan in the Twentieth Century From the horseless carriage to the information age, the Michigan Historical Museum's third-floor permanent exhibits interpret the 20th century.
