Location
Tawas Point Lighthouse is located in Tawas Point State Park, off U.S. 23, 2.5 miles southeast of East Tawas.
Admission
A Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for entry to the park. Admission to the lighthouse is $2 per person; tickets available at the Museum Store. Proceeds help fund the restoration of and exhibits for the lighthouse and lighthouse keeper's quarters.

- May 25 - September 2: Noon to 6 p.m., every day but Tuesdays
- September 3 - October 19: Noon to 4 p.m., every day but Tuesdays

- April 1 - 30: Subject to weather conditions and staff availability - call ahead.
Tawas Point Lighthouse is open during all special events at the park, regardless of the season.

How Much Time?
Please allow one hour to tour the lighthouse, the Museum Store and the Lighthouse Memory Walkway.
Even when the lighthouse is not open for tours inside, visitors can enjoy its exterior and grounds. There are other historic structures on site, including an oil house and a fog signal area.
The park also offers camping, picnicking, hiking, wildlife viewing and a beach.
Pets:All pets must be accompanied by their owners, under control and on a leash no longer than six feet. Pets may not enter any building, nor are they allowed on beaches or hiking trails. For further information, please refer to the DNR web page, Pets in

Accessibility
The lighthouse is approximately 475 feet from the parking lot; the path is asphalt, then brick. Access to the tower is by 85 steps. Visitors who wish to tour the museum area without going to the top of the tower will encounter a total of seven steps and accompanying handrails.
Information will be made available in Braille, if lighthouse staff is given advance notice.
