1950s Cars to Color

The 1957 Detroit Auto Show Gallery at the Michigan Historical Museum features a Plymouth Fury and a Chevrolet Corvette. You can see these cars in the museum gallery.

The museum's Corvette is Venetian Red with a white cove. Other color choices for 1957 Corvette buyers included Onyx Black, Polo White, Aztec Copper, Arctic Blue, Cascade Green, and Silver. The cove (the recessed area along each side of the car behind the front wheels) could be white, silver or beige. The museum's two-door hardtop Plymouth Fury is "Sand Dune White" with gold anodized aluminum trim—the only color available!
