• Great Turnout for Michigan's New "Great Lakes State" Quarter Cold weather didn't cool the enthusiasm of hundreds of residents who gathered on Statehood Day at the Capitol to catch a first look at Michigan's new quarter. Governor Jennifer Granholm, U.S. Mint Director Henrietta Holsman Fore and Department of History, Arts and Libraries (HAL) Director Dr. William Anderson led the official unveiling ceremony inside the State Capitol Monday morning, as onlookers packed into the rotunda.

• Michigan Quarter Ceremonial Strike January 8, 2004 - Members of the Michigan Quarter Commission traveled with family and friends to the Denver Mint for the ceremonial strike, where each visitor was able to strike his or her own coin.
