American Woodcock

• Season and Bag Limits
Season Dates: Woodcock hunting season opens the Saturday nearest Sept. 22 and runs for 45 days. These dates are set by a federal framework. The woodcock season in 2012 will be September 22(Sat)-November 5.

Bag Limits: three per day, six possession

Zone: Statewide

Hours: Woodcock hunting hours are sunrise to sunset.

License: A small game license. A federal waterfowl stamp is not required to hunt woodcock. A Harvest Information Program (HIP) endorsement is required. The HIP endorsement must be added by the agent if you are purchasing a small-game license and plan to hunt woodcock.

Shotguns must be plugged so they are capable of holding no more than three shells.
